Thank you for your interest in adopting a cat/kitten through Ruff Life Rescue and Rehabilitation, Inc. The kitten adoption fee is $140 and for cats 1 year +, the adoption fee is $100. Our fee includes spay/neuter, distemper vaccines (as appropriate for age), rabies, felv/fiv test, microchip, flea treatment, and deworming.
We recommend a well visit with your vet shortly after adoption to get your new pet established with their office and ensure timely administration of any further needed vaccinations as recommended by RLR or your veterinarian.
The first step in the cat/kitten adoption process is to complete an application. Click on the link below. Applications are reviewed and best match placements are always considered. We often receive more than one application per cat/kitten and can assist in finding another cat or kitten, should the one you are inquiring about already be adopted. We do not hold our animals (vacations, holidays, moving, etc.) so be sure you are ready to adopt when applying, otherwise, submit your application as soon as you are ready.
When providing the name of your veterinarian on the application, please contact them and give them permission to release information to us. Many vets require you to do this before we can speak to them. This will help the adoption process move along more quickly. If you do not have a vet, we highly recommend you find one that is accepting new clients before applying to adopt.
We are a foster based rescue, so all of our adoptable pets are in foster homes. They are seen by appointment only after the application has been received and reviewed.
